2025 Blackhawks Alumni Scholarship Recipient
The Chicago Blackhawk Alumni announced the recipients of this year's annual Blackhawk Alumni Scholarship Award.
The Alumni Association was formed in 1987 by former Blackhawks players (Stan Mikita, Keith Magnuson, Cliff Koroll and many others) with one of the main goals being to give back to Illinois youth hockey, high school in particular. As part of this charge, the Alumni awards three annual scholarships in the amount of $7,500.00 per year for four years totaling $30,000.00.
This year, Sean Yurkov was one of the three recipients of the scholarship. This scholarship is granted to “the most deserving Illinois high school hockey players”. The winners are selected not on hockey talent, but by the following five criteria: Academics, Financial Need, Character, Community Service, and Applicant Essay.
The Stevenson Hockey program congratulates Sean on this great accomplishment, he has been a tremendous representative for the program off the ice in addition to his talent on the ice. We wish you the best of luck Sean in the next chapter of your life.
Stevenson hockey would also like to congratulate and recognize the other two recipients who are Caden Hickey from Notre Dame College Prep and Michael Hollub from Saint Ignatius College Prep. Congratulations to these fine young men. Best of luck to all!
