Stevenson Hockey Supports Wreaths Across America
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the Stevenson High School JV White hockey team honored our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes at the Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Vernon Hills.
This is just a small sign of appreciation and thanks to not only those who served and are no longer with us, but to their families as well. The significance and importance of what these men and women did is not lost on our players and families. Some our proud to have grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles or brothers and sisters that have or currently do serve, and to you, we say thank you!
Each year the Stevenson High School Hockey Club prioritizes philanthropy projects and community outreach. In addition to the many other events we host, adding this one felt especially important. The freedoms we enjoy today are due largely in part to what these men and women did for us all. We must continue to remember, respect, honor and celebrate them all.
Through their efforts, the hockey program obtained 88 wreath sponsorships this year. We thank everyone who took the time to sponsor a wreath and will be participating again in 2025. Sponsorships are collected all year long and can be done by visiting:
